Be not the slave of your own past.

Be not the slave of your own past - plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep, and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience, that shall explain and overlook the old.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

A weekend is for finding my ‘self’.

“The most common ego identifications have to do with possessions, the work you do, social status and recognition, knowledge and education, physical appearance, special abilities, relationships, personal and family history, belief systems, and often political, nationalistic, racial, religious, and other collective identifications. None of these is you.”

- Eckhart Tolle, best-selling author and speaker.

This weekend is for finding my ‘self’. I feel like I have been transported back to the 70′s when I write that statement. Everyone was finding themselves and maybe we should try to find our selves again?

After a month of scattered chaotic emotions and challenging situations, you (I) have no option but to surrender, take a hard look at what is going on in your (my) life and find the stillness. I don’t mean sit and contemplate in deep meditation, no, I mean be aware of the thoughts and feelings when they bubble to the surface and see them from a different perspective. Be unattached just the observer and insight is found. I find walking in the woods or painting to be my place where stillness is found most in my life. Yours may be found washing the dishes or housecleaning in general, playing with your kids, conversing with friends, even going shopping. What I mean is be aware in the moments and see, if you can, what the universe is so desperately trying to tell you. It always is sending you little messages but we become so driven by the ego we never see, hear or believe the messenger.

My passed loved ones. Still stop in for a visit.

My passed loved ones.
Still stop in for a visit.

Maybe your life is like my own and have had one too many losses, both in possessions (financially) in relationships and in the deaths (I prefer passing) of those that knew your heart all to well. I have experienced much living and with each one I have found a deeper compassion for people nature and life in all the yucky-ness. Though I will tell you I am tired today. I need something to work for my greater good. I need the Universe to give me a hug today. Problem though is I am the one stopping any and all of it from happening. So that is why I am taking the weekend (maybe the week) to find myself. When I reconnect with the Me, I then reconnect to the Divine Universe and to my very own greater good.

Climbing Life’s Ladder to Positive Change.

“Every positive change–every jump to a higher level of energy and awareness–involves a rite of passage. Each time to ascend to a higher rung on the ladder of personal evolution, we must go through a period of discomfort, of initiation. I have never found an exception.”

- Dan Millman, is an author of fourteen self-help books,  “Way of the Peaceful Warrior.”

Yesterday I discussed on my blog The Painted Cottage Home about endless speculation and how it can absolutely confine your Self if you do not release it. Once released you start to live from a place of doing and insight. I would have written the post here but it reflected on the home and studio I am selling but I am getting away from the inspiration for this post, here.

If you think about the quote above and then think about the changes you have gone through you have to see the truth to his words. I think yesterday my thoughts were a beginning for the post today. I think back to one of the darkest moments in my life, I was involved in a DUI or DWI depending on where in the USA you live. I was young and thought invincible. I lost everything. My job, my license, my friends, family members found it a perfect time to cast judgement, and I now had a record. Criminal record. I thought I could never survive all this yet somehow I did. Not only survived but became a new wonderful soulful spiritual being.

We all have moments in time that will never change which I refer to as life markers. They are a constant fixed point in our lives. The event will happen but it is what we do after the event that is so crucial. Do you climb to the next rung on the ladder or do you freeze where you are or do you climb back down? Going higher is work and the hardest work you can undertake. If you stay frozen you live a shell of a life, just an existence, no more and no less, just there. If you go down I think it is where evil feeds and life becomes twisted, into the bowel of hell comes to mind. Yet I do not believe in hell as a physical place more one of the mind or dimensional space.

The beloved universe always gives us sign posts and messages for us to see hear think smell nudging us in directions we may not have thought would be right. When you pay attention and learn accepting the goodness and love the beloved universe is offering life gets pretty awesome if not epic. I did not see the sign posts the universe was showing me so my wake up call was a DUI. The DUI was also the best thing to have happened in my life so far. Some events have come close but this moment, this amazing life marker sent me heading on a new bright path.

Today right now life is setting up for something new once more and after experiencing a life marker once before I can feel the energy of a moment fixed in my life time coming towards me. In your gut you can sense an anxiousness,a restlessness of energies around you, your senses become heightened. I am not going to make the same mistake ignoring the signs. I know I have to keep climbing and I know I will be fabulous once it passes. If you have this feeling also keep vigilant and watch how time is moving around you. When that moment hits time seems to slow down. You are acutely aware of time and space.

No one can stop tragedy in life and tragedy is life. I know you can see the signs in your own life. Are you climbing on the ladder next to me or frozen? If you are frozen reach out a hand the beloved universe is there always to aid you guide you and help. If you have fallen well it doesn’t matter because this post would have ended for you long ago, but I send you light and love.

A dream is your creative vision for your life.

“A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.”

“Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.”

Can we gain once we have lose everything else?

“To gain that which is worth having, it may be necessary to lose everything else.”

I know this is a dismal thought to many to lose everything but let me explain why this quote hits home. I was standing on check out line in the grocery store and a little peeved at the price of all that I had in the bags. I thought when are things going to turn around? When is it going to become understandable? There has to be some reason for all this chaos but what could it be. On the drive home I thought about maybe I should be doing something different with my life. Is this the Universe saying I am in it up to my thighs and it is only going to keep getting worse?
Then a whisper of an idea came to me. Could it be that the feeling of loosing it all was the best thing for me? When you go through tragedy lose, financial, emotional and very personal,  you finally will come to a stop. A holding pattern of sorts and from that moment you can make the choice to leave the pain and lose behind or hold to it tightly in fear of more lose only to experience the next round of turmoil. It is coming because you have chosen it to be more lose. I find these moments to be turning points in my life and ones that need to be there but when you see them for what these moments are let them go. What is left is what is needed for the next step in your life. When we allow ourselves the lose, the gain is always going to come if we allow the cleansing of the lose. It has to because the lose formed a void and the universe is always filling the voids. You decide what the direction will be.
“The sacrifice which causes sorrow to the doer of the sacrifice is no sacrifice. Real sacrifice lightens the mind of the doer and gives him a sense of peace and joy. The Buddha gave up the pleasures of life because they had become painful to him.”

Love wins every time.

“According to A Course in Miracles, there are only two basic emotions: one is fear, the other is love. You may fear the disapproval of others. Take that risk and you’ll discover that you receive more approval when you don’t seek it than when you do. You may fear the unknown. Take that risk as well. Wander in there, asking yourself, “What is the worst thing that can happen if this doesn’t work out?” The truth is that you will just move beyond it. You’re not going to starve to death or be tortured if it doesn’t work out… Fear knocked at the door. Love answered and no one was there.”

- Wayne Dyer, page 29 from his book “10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace.” Dyer is a popular American

self-help advocate, author and lecturer.

Feel good and let in love.

On a day when things were looking a little bleak I found this quote by one of my favorite soulful people in the world (Dr, Wayne Dyer) and on the best inspiring blog about love, The Daily Love. Much needed right? If I was a dog that is how I feel now. Have a brilliant epic day. Kick fear to the side and show everyone some more love.

Searching for truth.

Lately I have found I am searching for an answer but I did not have the right question. You can not find any answers if you do not question. Then I found a beautiful documentary on TV and on a channel I do not normally watch. It was about The Pyramid Codes. I discovered a truth that whispered on the air and I found myself realizing I had asked the wrong questions. I decided it was time to change my thinking and start doing. I have read so much and studied for many years about life religion and the psychology of the mind only to find empty promises mixed with lies and misconceptions. I am not judging but I do not understand why we need to fight, why there is such strife and chaos and why does religion condemn those who think for themselves? Why is everything under the umbrella of man? Why did it not fall under woman? And then as I watched this program I could see what the truth of man was. It was a lie. It was a lie perpetuated by men for the purpose of gold money and power.

What has been taught may well be a huge lie. Science now understands maybe as far back as 24,000 years ago there was a time referred to as the Golden Age. It was a matriarchal society. Not that women had the power but that women and men were of the same mind spirit and emotion. Woman was the heads of their households and owned property. What happened to this enlightened age? A group of religious priests found they liked power and money. They developed a payment system. Over time the matriarch system fell to the side and we have lived in a patriarchal system ever since, meaning man’s law. The same belief brought society to the dark ages or iron age which we still live in. Fear women would usurper their power the freedom of enlightenment was diminished to fall into obscurity.

What I found the most fascinating is that it may not be man who is the cause of this chaos but the very nature of the earth. The earth not only spins on its axis but sort of wobbles around to and this wobble takes about 26,000 years to complete. It just happens to also coincide with the Mayan calendar which ended in 2012. This means not the end of what we know but the beginning of what we have forgotten. When Dec 2012 clicked by, we entered the coming new year and we are starting the journey towards the next Golden Age. No we are not going to see an abrupt change in thinking but the earth itself will start to change. A good change, electromagnetically change. When you see how the pyramids themselves produce energy after such decay and damage imagine what they did when they were first constructed. These structures were thought to be built to help diminish the effects on people and their spirituality, their enlightened state of being, though the creators of the pyramids knew it would not stop it. How advanced these people were and how arrogant and ignorant we have been. As new discoveries are made we have to start asking better questions. These people of the Golden Age are not simple-minded ancient people but as we uncover the truth we are the  society made up of  simple-minded ancients. Science is just getting a handle on how much we have not understood and are now starting to ask the right questions, finding the truth long forgotten but never lost.

As a delightful Egyptian Scholar said on the program “We already have the answers, it is called knowing” Beautiful thought knowing. Does something inside you know truth? Maybe nature or the pyramids will show us ours.

Are you ready?

The dawn of a new world.

Are you ready? The start of a new world is coming and many are already intuitively feeling the pull. Instinctively we are adding signs of awakened spirituality with more blogs of inspiring words on the internet, whole networks dedicated to Spirit on TV, with inspiring books and art. The soulful being inside, your intuition is very aware of a new dawn and I am absolute in my belief it is not to fear. If you want to become more in tuned I offer these simple tips.

Here are a few tips on how you can get ready, embrace it and ride the wave into a new era of your life:

1. Release the old things that no longer serve you. This can be from people to the clutter in your home. If it is people, bless them and release them. If it is old ideas and fears, dissolve them.

2. Make sure you are crystal clear on what you want your new life to be.

3. Embrace change. It’s a journey, not a destination. And when you take control of the change you ride it like a seasoned surfer, rather than get caught in it like a helpless victim of circumstances. Radical change can feel like a giant elephant just walked into the room—completely overwhelming. I like to say, “How do you eat an elephant? One tiny bite at a time.” Carve it up, and take one tiny little bite or step at a time through change, even radical change.

4. Have a daily spiritual practice. It does not matter what you do, what is important is that you do it daily. It allows you to release your blocks and fears and focus on the new things coming to you.

5. Embrace your power. You have the power to change your life. This new age is all about empowerment and consciousness. You are not a victim anymore.
