The Solar Eclipse Means Expansion

Reblogged from fairiesandme:

On May 20th, 2012 there will be a full solar eclipse that will be in alignment with Pleiades, a new moon, and the sun will be shifting from Taurus to Gemini. On June 5th and 6th Venus will be transiting the sun. It seemed we are stepping into another time of the energy peaking in intensity. I decided it was time to get a message from The Fairies and some guidance for this time.

Have you ever done any work with energy? I find this a fascinating area in my spiritual life class. The past year or so I have explored this area and found a common thread between energy work and spirituality but not with religion. When involved with energy work you connect to the Source, Creator, God…

Thought I would share this new post with some of my friends here.

My first ghost story.

Ghost

Have you ever been alone and heard a voice in your ear? This is how my story begins. It was a quiet night around 2 am and I was laying in bed debating if I should watch TV or not. It is why I know I was not sleeping or dosing and my imagination thought this happened. No I was quite awake. But before I tell you what happened let me give you some background.

I had just ended a relationship and my father‘s health had started to deteriorate. My mother needed help. I am one of those people who have to help family so I took over the top floor of their home, renovating and expanding it to suit my needs. It was comforting for mom knowing she now had help. My father dealt with miny strokes and had memory problems. Once all the work was finished and I got settled in I would notice sounds of someone coming up the stairs. There were two steps that always creaked when someone stepped on them. I would get up to see if my father had gotten out of bed. Thought he was confused and was coming up to his old bedroom. I would look, no Dad, so he must have gone back to his bed is what I thought. I am a very light sleeper. At that time Woody was alive and a young dog and always slept on the bed with me. He often stared over at the stairwell. This went on for months and then my father’s health restricted him to a wheel chair. He certainly was not climbing any steps. The stairs though kept on creaking. I never thought it was more than the house shifting after all I had done some major renovations. I rationalized it and but it in the back of my mind until…

As I laid in the bed my hand on Woody I decided to try to get some sleep. I had placed the remote back down and turned onto my side and in my ear I heard, MiiChael(Michael). The voice was loud and raspy and he drew out the Mii and then coughed the Chael. Every single hair on my body stood straight up. I shot straight up in bed while Woody laid there completely oblivious. My eyes blinked trying to see if maybe there was someone in the room (alive) but it was still. To this day I can hear that voice but thankfully Michael never said another word. About a year later I moved and often wonder if the stairs still creak or there are whispers in the night.

My dog ate the fairies.

Today has been a real challenge starting with a painting I had sent last week to a friend and this morning delivered back to me marked insufficient postage. So down to the post office to resend my package. Oh and it was only 90 cents shy. Job finished and package back on the road. Not too bad just a hiccup in life I think I can cope.

Tucker the fairy eating dog.

Back to work and happily today I am painting some new small watercolors of thistles and flowers and fairies. Everything is just falling into place the colors the images even my little fairies looked like wonderful magical fairies. I was not sure if I could do fairies. I painted thistle fairies and coneflower fairies, field flowers and it flowed out onto the small pieces of rag paper I had cut for this project.  I was so excited and pleased looking at what I had accomplished. My coffee was cold and it was time to take a well deserved break.

Tucker always sleeps on a loveseat while I paint. Whenever I leave he is usually right next to me, secretly wishing I will take him for a ride or walk. Today he stayed behind. I thought maybe he did not hear me head down the stairs and put it out of my mind. Nuked my coffee and called Tucker. No dog. Strange so I went to investigate and there is Tucker swallowing the last fairy painting. My heart sank all my lovely fairies gone. I screamed Tucker ran and as he passed me running paws flying everywhere, he lets out one nice burp.

I don’t know why I found this amusing but I did. I started to chuckle and Tucker stopped and looked at me quite confused. I guess he thought I had finally gone nuts. I can honestly say no. What I did do is to find the humor in this challenging situation. In my head I could hear the words you can choose happiness you can choose peace or you can get mad. Getting mad at Tucker still would not have made the paintings reappear and he was only doing what dogs do, they eat paper. He knows he screwed up just from my first reaction and chances are good he probably will eat more paper again. I have to make sure I do my part and do not leave things where he might reach them.

Tomorrow I will try to paint some more fairies.

Next stage in creating my woodland fairy houses.

Adding branches to fairy house.

Adding branches to fairy house.

This is the next stage in creating my woodland fairy house. Once the shell or structure is painted and dry I took branches and ripped them down length wise using my band saw. The branches had their own unique twists so I fiddled around and when I liked what I created I used my nail gun to secured them in place.

When planning this house I cut the bottom slightly longer so I could define the space inside. Here I added a very distinctive branch with lichen and moss still on the bark.

Back of fairy house.

The back of the woodland fairy house is covered from top to bottom with the split branches. The sides are also decorated. Now it is ready for the moss and little bits of found things from nature and the corners of shops.

I love this part because the story in my mind starts to take hold. As my imagination wanders the magic begins to weave itself into the woodland fairy house. Sometimes I feel it is the fairies creating these fabulous houses. The fairies certainly do help in the inspiration.

My Woodland Fairy House is on its way to another home.

Woodland Fairy House

Today the woodland fairy house was purchased. It is my belief that when these houses are ready to leave this place of creation, between the weeds, they are sold. I always feel a slight lose but I know somewhere … Continue reading

Landscape Watercolor Painting.

Summertime on the Lamoille River

This landscape watercolor painting of the Lamoile River by Laurie Rohner captures the river that meandered in front of our home in Vermont. It is summer and the river is low but you can still catch a glimpse of a kayak being gently paddled down the river. The colors are soft and the painting radiates the heat of the day. To the right are the pines shading the water but I painted the water clear and calm showing the rocks under the softness of the water. It is in contrast to the sunlight shores on the left. I gave a focal point in the center of the painting that brings you back into the painting with the shoreline of the river and the hazy mountain in the distance. This is one of my favorite watercolor landscape paintings.
